From first steps to advanced techniques, these FAQs cover what to expect, how we teach, and how Barbone Academy supports your growth.
Do I need any prior experience to join the academy?
All applicants must hold a minimum Level 2 NVQ in Barbering or equivalent qualification.
What types of courses do you offer?
We offer a curated selection of courses designed to refine your technique and elevate your craft, ranging from a Foundations of Barbering course, to more in depth courses to hone techniques in skills such as shaving or Beard Services.
How long do the training programmes last?
Each course lasts between 1-3 days.
Will I get hands-on experience during the courses?
Yes. Every course at Barbone Academy is built around practical learning. Each student has the opportunity to work on both mannequins and live models.
Do you provide any certification after completing a course?
Yes. Every student receives a certificate upon completion of their course. Selected programmes are also HABIA-approved, reflecting our commitment to recognised industry standards and professional excellence.
Can I buy barbering tools and products through the academy?
Yes. A curated range of professional products and tools are available to purchase directly through the Academy — including Matakki scissors, as we are proudly sponsored by Matakki.
